Panic Away

So what exactly is Barry’s Panic Away program all about?

Panic Away is a comprehensive course by Barry McDonagh on how to stop panic attacks and general anxiety. The program goes into some very unconventional methods for stopping panic attacks. However, the methods tend to have a good amount of science behind them. It’s also interesting to note that the program has been used for almost 10 years by people in over 32 countries. While these methods may be unorthodox, the fact that it has helped many people testifies to it’s effectiveness.

Here’s what some people who have personally used Panic Away have said…

“I found Barry McDonagh’s approach to the treatment of panic attacks and phobias in particular to be a refreshing one – simple, practical and easy to use.”

“Indeed, this can be the ‘first aid’ kit for anxiety.”

“I cannot believe what an impact your program has had in my life.”

One of the unconventional concepts that is taught in Panic Away is to actually break the cycle of panic attacks and anxiety. This is a far different approach from most panic and anxiety programs that teach you how to cope with the problem with lifestyle changes and medication. According to Barry, the key is to no longer fear having a panic attack since one of the biggest causes of anxiety is the fear of actually having a panic attack.

In Panic Away, he goes into some very specific exercises that enable people to overcome panic attack symptoms and gain confidence in themselves to overcome them. In addition to the exercises, Barry also provides some very effective tools to help people overcome their fears of having a panic attack.

What makes Panic Away different?

One of the things that makes this program different is that Barry McDonagh himself suffered from panic attacks and anxiety for years. He developed many of his techniques by using them himself and then later teaching them to people he privately coached. Unlike most programs that deal in theory and written by people who only studied textbooks, Barry’s techniques were developed by application, which is a huge difference.

He’s also spent many years studying the best psychologists working in the field. He’s also read hundreds of research papers and textbooks on the topic of anxiety and panic attacks. If you decide to download the program, you can be sure that there has been a tremendous amount of research put into the development of the program.

What are the BAD things about Panic Away?

Just like any other program, Panic Away is not perfect and there are some flaws in Barry’s program:

- The methods that Barry teaches are pretty unconventional so I can see how readers might be a little skeptical of the techniques. It’s also a little overwhelming since the concepts covered are all pretty different from what one is used to.

- Another flaw is that there isn’t much information on medicine or herbal treatments. The program insists that treating your symptoms with drugs is not healthy for you in the long run. While I agree with this, it is not covered enough. I feel the reader could have benefited by more reasons why drugs are not a long term solution.

And what are the GOOD things about Panic Away?

- It’s a very easy read that’s not full of medical and psychological jargon that would confuse the average person.

- The techniques in the program can be applied immediately.

- The techniques are proven and time-tested with a tremendous amount of testimonials from people that have been helped by them. In fact, Barry says that the techniques are so effective that someone can learn to stop a panic attack in 21 seconds flat.

- Barry has a very effective teaching style and the program is taught through a series of videos that accompany every one of his concepts.

- Aside from the program itself, Barry provides a voucher which gives you lifetime access to a members-only site where you can get support from other users and qualified therapists.

- The techniques are applicable regardless of what kind of panic and anxiety attacks you are experiencing.

Overall, What Do You Think?

In my opinion, Panic Away is the most detailed non-fluff program available on how to stop panic attacks and general anxiety. Barry has been around for a long time and his program has been used for 10 years by over 60,000 people. His teaching style is very effective and his program is chock full of specific techniques that can be applied right away.

If you suffer from panic attacks or have general anxiety disorders, and you want to get your life back and not have to worry about suffering from an attack at the most inopportune moments, I definitely feel you should pick up Barry’s Panic Away program and go through it from start to finish. You won’t regret it.

Hope my website has helped you,

Jaime

How To Stop Panic Attacks In Four Steps

August 3rd, 2011
How To Stop A Panic Attack

How To Stop A Panic Attack

If you suffer from panic and anxiety attacks, then you already know how scary they can be. In fact, for many people, it goes beyond scary. Many people have attacks that are so extreme that they feel like they are dying. With that said, it goes without saying that knowing how to prevent or minimize a panic attack is very important. Now, before you start saying that it’s impossible to do that, there are some things you can do, or train yourself to do, to stop a panic attack before it gets out of control.

In this article, I’ll give you four things you can do to help you stop a panic attack before one sets in and gets out of control. Before I do that, I feel it’s important to know what some of the factors are that actually cause an attack. While there may be several, one that most people don’t know about is adrenaline. It is a sudden release of adrenaline that people aren’t ready for that causes some of the physical symptoms in a panic attack. Knowing this interesting fact will help you understand the four things I will now mention that will help you stop an attack before it sets in.

How To Stop A Panic Attack – #1 - The first thing you should you is observe the sensations that you feel when you think a panic attack is coming on. It is only when you get the courage to observe what’s going on, instead of resisting it, that you are able to fully process the physical symptoms that are occurring in your body.

How To Stop A Panic Attack – #2 - The second thing you should do when you feel the symptoms of an attack coming in is breathe. I know it sounds too simple but taking deep and long breaths will bring oxygen to your body. Provided you’re taking deep breaths, you can actually bring yourself to a state of calmness and relaxation. Calming yourself down will slow your heart rate and help you minimize the symptoms you feel.

How To Stop A Panic Attack – #3 - The third thing you should do is embrace and accept what you feel. Instead of wasting your energy to try to fight what you feel, you can actually embrace what’s happening and tell yourself that it’s OK to feel what you feel and that it will pass. By telling yourself that everything will be OK, you’ll start shifting yourself to a more positive state of mind.

How To Stop A Panic Attack – #4 - The fourth thing you should do is demand more of the sensations. Tell your mind to release more of the symptoms into your body that you fear the most. This is the critical step that’s required to fully process what’s happening and stop the cycle of rebound anxiety. By stopping the cycle, you will have the knowledge that you can survive an attack. This new found knowledge will give you a tremendous amount of confidence.

These four steps can go a long way for you if you’re suffering from panic and anxiety attacks. Many people have implemented exercises like this to take control of their minds and bodies to minimize a panic attack or completely stop one from happening in the first place.

Knowing how to stop panic attacks is extremely important if you suffer from them on a regular basis. The Panic Away program has helped many people who have panic attack symptoms.

Panic Attack Symptoms – What Causes Panic Attacks?

July 31st, 2011
What Causes Panic Attacks?

What Causes Panic Attacks?

Hi, Jaime here…

So you’re probably thinking, “What causes panic attacks anyway?” Well, it’s really hard to pinpoint one thing and just like other disorders, there may be many causes. Based on some articles I’ve read recently, one cause that a lot of people don’t realize is heredity. An even more overlooked possible cause of panic attacks is learned behaviour. Now, when I first read that I thought to myself, “Why would anyone teach themselves to have panic attacks?”. But research shows that some very healthy people, who were put in specific circumstances, actually developed some text book symptoms. While panic disorders are a totally different condition than panic attacks, there are some obvious connections. And just like there are behavioural connections, there are also connections and similarities in cause. The most common cause between those who suffer from panic attacks and those who have a panic disorder is overwhelming anxiety. While the average person experiences anxiety at times, someone who is suffering from panic attacksexperience it on a whole different level. On top of the actual feeling of anxiety, they experience extreme dizziness, hyperventilation and even headaches.According to Panic Away creator, Barry McDonagh, it’s at these times of overwhelming anxiety that you can actually prevent a panic attack from coming on. Over the past decade, he’s been able to help thousands of people in more than 32 countries prevent, or at the very least minimize, panic attacks by teaching coping strategies. One such strategy he has developed, and teaches, is doing relaxation exercises that are designed to bring you to a relaxes state, should you feel an attack coming on. OK, I know what you’re thinking… “Yeah, right! Exercise when I feel a panic attack coming on?!?” I have to admit that I first said the same thing. However, after combing through his program and reading dozens of dozens of articles on the topic, there is a ton of science behind his methods and philosophy.

If you’re someone who is plagued by panic attacks and anxiety, I want to encourage you to check out Barry McDonagh’s program, Panic Away. At the very least you can sift through some of the testimonials to see what has happened with people who have been helped by it.

An Unbiased Review Of Panic Away Creator: Barry McDonagh

July 30th, 2011
Panic Away Creator, Barry McDonagh

Panic Away Creator, Barry McDonagh

So you’re wondering if Panic Away really works and is as effective as thousands of people say. Well, sometime it makes sense to look past the Panic Away program and look at the person who created it. Barry McDonagh first released the Panic Away program ten years ago in 2001. But the techniques he talks about in the program were actually developed years before, when he was still in college. It was during those years that he discovered that the best way to manage panic attacks was to first get into what he calls a “state of excited arousal”. According to McDonagh, allowing yourself to get into this state gives your body time to adjust and relax. This concept went against what most people thought you had to do when you got a panic attack. Most people think they have to force themselves into a state of calmness when they feel an attack coming on. But this sudden and forced attempt to change your state just didn’t seem to be working.

In order to get into this “state of excited arousal”, McDonagh developed exercises which when performed, allowed someone to minimize the attack and sometimes stop it all together. It’s these specific exercises that are highlighted in the Panic Away program.

While McDonagh is from Ireland, his program has been sold in over 32 countries and has been extremely successful with helping people stop panic attacks. He’s also been on TV shows and several radio stations across the United States explaining the Panic Away program.

After studying him very closely, one of the things that impressed me the most was his willingness to evolve with the times and update his program accordingly. His original program has been updates a few times over the past ten years to include new discoveries and developments in panic attack treatments. However, what hasn’t changed is his core philosophy and his specific exercises he teaches people. His simple but clear approach to explaining his program is also still present.

If you’re suffering from anxiety and panic attacks and you’re looking into the Panic Away program, take a some time to look into Barry McDonagh and his background. It will help you understand the program the little better.

Panic Away Review – The Symptoms Of Anxiety Disorders And Panic Attacks

July 30th, 2011
Anxiety And Panic Attacks

Anxiety And Panic Attacks

Are you suffering from anxiety and panic attacks and wondering if you’re all alone? You’re not. There are millions of people all over the country, and the world, who suffer from anxiety and panic disorders. In fact, some people who suffer from these disorders don’t even know they have them since the symptoms can sometimes be minimal. Studies have shown that anxiety symptoms can range from minimal to severe and include general anxiety disorder, different forms of phobia and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

While people normally associate panic attack symptoms to be excessive fear and irrational worry, here are some symptoms to look out for:

1. A negative outlook on everything – While this might seem minor, a negative attitude can easily spiral into depression.

2. Restlessness – Many people who suffer from anxiety disorders often feel agitated and overly restless.

3. Constant tension – A common symptom that has been reported by those suffering from anxiety and panic disorders is the feeling of being tense all the time.

4. Difficulty concentrating – Another common symptom among those suffering from panic attacks and anxiety disorders is extreme difficulty concentrating. This is partly caused by the lack of sleep that sufferers have.

If you’re familiar with some, or all, of these symptoms, it’s important that you take some precautions. And while I’m not saying that you may necessarily need panic attack treatment, it probably makes sense to get some information on how to stop panic attacks.

Over the next several posts, I’ll cover more information on how you can identify symptoms early so you can stop anxiety and panic attacks before they get our of hand.
